American Studies Connect is part of an American Studies Employability project in the School of American Studies at the University of East Anglia, UK.

American Studies Connect is the web-home for a burgeoning network of UEA American Studies students past and present that has been created to:

–   bring alumni and current AMS students together in order to exchange experiences and stories

–   share the ways in which the year abroad experience influences self-perception and career choice

–   provide invaluable insight into the paths one might take with a degree in American Studies.

We will have regular feature pieces focused either on a place, occupation, or person and there will be open discussion sessions. If you would like us to feature you, your year abroad or current location, or your business / career / industry, then please do get in touch.

What this site is for: sharing these stories and making personal, institutional, and professional (re)connections. We also hope to be able to host information about job and internship opportunities.

If you are an alumnus or alumna of the School of American Studies at UEA (previously part of the School of English and American Studies) and would like to be involved in the project, then you can contact us here. We look forward to hearing from you.

To find out how American Studies Connect fits into the wider project, please see our Project page.

Dr Wendy McMahon, Lecturer in American Studies, AMS, UEA.
